Privacy Policy

This policy explains the limited information handled by Springfield Residents Directory and the choices available to visitors. The service is a private reference to Springfield, Massachusetts public sources and historical collections. It has no member accounts and does not keep a personal directory of visitors.

Information Submitted by Visitors

A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the independent provider that supplies the result service. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. A message sent to us contains the information included in that message and is used to respond.

Automatic Technical Data

Hosting services may record routine log details, including an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review aggregate activity to maintain the service and understand use of the pages. Cookies or similar tools can support basic analytics and, if used, advertising measurement.

How Technical Data Is Used

That information supports operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We do not sell a visitor list or create an individual visitor profile.

External Services and Links

Links may lead to City, Hampden County, Massachusetts, library, archive, or third-party search services. The destination’s policy controls data submitted there, including information entered into a sponsored search result.

Service Providers and Disclosure

Hosting and support vendors process the technical logs described above. Analytics or advertising partners can receive the applicable automatic data. Information is otherwise disclosed only when valid legal process requires it.

Security Practices

The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only as long as the purposes above require. Because there are no accounts, the service does not maintain visitor passwords or account profiles.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information, and we will remove it.

Choices About Personal Data

Visitors may ask about data this service keeps and request correction or deletion where applicable. Massachusetts recognizes a privacy right in M.G.L. c.214 §1B, but the reviewed state sources did not confirm a broad enacted consumer-data deletion law. Since we retain very little, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and available logs, then removing what is found. Use the Contact page to ask. Springfield, Hampden County, and Massachusetts public records are controlled by their custodians, not by this service.

Policy Updates

Any revision will be posted here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
